Aspire Chiropractic Clinic collects personal and sensitive data as an essential part of the patient care process. We are required to collect and evaluate this data as part of our statutory duties under the Chiropractors Act 1994 and by our regulator, The General Chiropractic Council.

The Personal Data We Process and What We Do With It

We record and use the following categories of personal data: name, address, telephone numbers, email address, date of birth, health information including medical history, diagnosis and treatment data. Our lawful basis of processing this data is one of contract, and the health information you provide is for the provision of health-related services as a chiropractic clinic. In addition, we will only examine or treat you with your explicit consent. Aspire Chiropractic may need to contact you directly via the information you provide to discuss appointments, payment information or important clinic updates.

Retaining Your Personal Data

Whilst you are receiving treatment from our clinic we will continue to store and use your personal data. Within the clinic, only our Chiropractors and Clinic Assistants have legitimate access to your data in order to fulfil their roles within the clinic. All electronic information is password protected and filing cabinets are all securely locked. We will be required to retain your personal data for a minimum of 8 years from the date of your last appointment with us.  After this 8 year period, we shall legally dispose of your personal data.

Your Rights

You may request a copy of your data at any time. If you believe any of the personal data we hold on record is inaccurate or incomplete, please contact the clinic directly and any necessary corrections to your data will be made If you would like to request the erasure of your data, (subject to our 8 year retention period) please contact the Data Controller whose details are shown above.

Data Breaches

Should your personal data that we control be lost, stolen or otherwise breached, where this constitutes a high risk to your rights and freedoms, we will contact you without delay. We will explain to you the nature of the breach and the steps we are taking to deal with it.

Should You Wish To Complain

Please bring to our attention if you are unhappy with how we process your personal information by contacting the Data Controller. You can also contact the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) via their website: should you wish to make a complaint about the way we are processing your personal data.

Automated Decision Making and Profiling

We do not use any system which uses automated decision making or profiling in respect of your personal data.
